Tereza Fotiadi, Solicitor at MDS and Specialist Medical Negligence Solicitor said "Mentorship empowers the next generation of legal professionals, shaping the future of our field"
At MDS, we are passionate about supporting aspiring legal professionals. Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the Future Female Figures Mentoring Scheme Session organised by the University of Leicester’s Women in Law Society, where I was paired with a first-year law student eager to explore our specialist area of medical negligence.
It is incredibly encouraging to see students showing a keen interest in medical negligence so early in their careers. Engaging with mentees who are enthusiastic about patient safety, and access to justice highlights the growing engagement within our field.
The session concluded with an open-floor Q&A discussion featuring female legal professionals and students. This interactive element provided an excellent opportunity to exchange insights on navigating a legal career, the importance of mentorship, and the challenges faced by women in the profession. The discussions were dynamic and inspiring, reinforcing the importance of initiatives that empower the next generation of legal professionals.
As specialists in medical negligence law, we understand the value of knowledge-sharing and mentorship.Supporting aspiring solicitors not only strengthens the future of our profession but also ensures that those affected by medical negligence have dedicated and passionate specialists fighting their corner.
I look forward to continuing to mentor students and engaging in conversations that shape the future of our field.
