Gemma Lewis
"I enjoy the attention to detail that is required by this role so that I can understand my clients' cases and the medical issues involved. I have the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and to make a difference in their lives, whether by obtaining answers to their questions or compensation for injuries that should have been avoided."
Gemma joined Moosa-Duke Solicitors in September 2015 when she qualified as a solicitor.
She studied at Nottingham Trent University and obtained First Class Honours in a Forensic Science degree. She worked for the Police while studying further and gained Distinctions in the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course.
Gemma was promoted to Director in January 2022. She specialises in high value, complex claims including:
- Cauda Equina Syndrome and other spinal injuries.
- Delay in diagnosis of cancer, particularly cervical cancer.
- Maternity claims.
- Fatal cases.
Gemma is passionate about her work and about obtaining the best result possible for her clients. She develops close relationships with her clients and is praised for her compassion and empathy. She is recognised for her knowledge of her cases, her attention to detail, and her ability to put her clients first and ensure that they understand every step of the investigation.
In her spare time, Gemma enjoys yoga, pilates, and walking her dogs. When she’s not chasing around after her dogs, she can usually be found watching or listening to cricket, reading a book from her ever-increasing collection, or watching Grey’s Anatomy, for the drama not the medical research.
